Here is some news about Doctor Who 600 The Christmas Episode, some is rumour, some confirmed fact, but are subject to change, just in case a pinch of salt though please;Filming for the Christmas Special will begin July 12-16 in Swansea. The episode is written by Steven Moffat and will feature both a former cast member of British soap Eastenders and a Hollywood actor. There are also rumors of a big, big name playing a massive role, which likely describes one of those two other people. Silence, the major story arc of series 6, is mentioned at least once in the special, and we hear again from the voice first heard in the TARDIS during 512 The Pandorica Opens - apparently this voice still has some control of the TARDIS!The story was originally thought to be set in 1500s England, possibly involving Henry VIII. However, the lines about the Egyptian goddess and the Orient Express in space at the end of 513 The Big Bang were an absolute last minute addition, so they may represent the new direction for the special? There are rumors the special will have undertones of A Christmas Carol - something thats been rumored since at least The Runaway Bride - complete with a possible appearance by a past Doctor as the Ghost of Christmas Past! Those Doctors under consideration for this are supposedly Sylvester McCoy, Paul McGann, and David Tennant, which makes sense when you consider the other Doctors ages, appearances, or total unwillingness to ever have anything to do with the show ever again (and 3 of them are dead also). This may be nonsense anyway, but heres hoping for a little multi-Doctor Christmas goodness.Onto series six, Rory will remain the Doctors companion, and have loads more to do. Amy has a biiiig secret to get off her chest (nothing bad)! Obviously we are meant to think she is pregnant from this statement. Most importantly, River Song is definitely back, but with a big difference when we see her in series 6, it'll be the first time she meets the Doctor. And the confirmed writers for series 6 include; Steven Moffat, Neil Gaiman (probably Episode 3), Paul Cornell, Tom MacRae, Phil Ford (probably the non-Moffat two-parter), and Rob Shearman.Source.And remember the Yeti graphics for the Christmas show, here, I wouldn't worry about the silly missing script story though, these days everything is backed up :)Remember the pinch of salt for some of it please! This post started off on my blog - http://lifetheuniverseandcombom.blogspot.com - there are so many features on there that are not in the newsfeed, or posted elsewhere, you really need to check it out! Thanx!

Steven Moffat on what to expect in Doctor Who series 6
What are the two mysteries that we can expect to be resolved in Doctor Who’s next series? As we continue to wrap our heads around last weekend's Doctor Who finale, The Big Bang, inevitably quite a lot of attention - given the loose threads that were deliberately left dangling - has turned to what's going to happen in the sixth series of the revived Doctor Who. Show boss Steven Moffat has been answering that very question, telling Doctor Who Confidential that two of the big story mysteries will be resolved. "What is that, who is that, who are the silence, what's coming?" teased Moffat. "The whole point of the silence is next series. Also, River Song ... who is she really? That's what we're going to find out next year," he said. Also, Steven Moffat has revealed to Digital Spy just how far into planning series six he is. "Not far enough, I think is the answer to that!" he told the site. "I've got lots of plans - plans are not nearly as useful as scripts, I find - so I'd like to have more scripts and fewer plans. We're not quite as ahead of the game as we were last time. But it's fine." It's unclear yet how many episodes of series six Moffat himself will be writing, but that should become clear in the months ahead, along with the identity of some of the other scribes working on the next series of the show.

V Spoilers – Second Season 'More Action Packed'

Shared by Eoghann
Thank goodness! V's first season may have ended last month, but unlike several of its freshman genre competitors (including FlashForward), V will be coming back with a second season. Whether this renewal was rightful or not is still a subject of much discussion, but regardless, plans are already being made for the alien invasion's second year on television. Executive producer and showrunner Scott Rosenbaum talked to UGO about the future of the show. Episodes will be more "action-packed," Rosenbaum says. We'll also " see a lot more of the V soldiers and their army in Season 2. Also, when the battle starts, we will see the battle. We do have budget limitations but we’ll figure it out." A main complaint from viewers about V's first season was its slow moving plot arc and the lack of mythological reveals. However, Rosenbaum assures viewers that "more Visitor mythology reveals" are part of his goal as showrunner. "I want the show to be a sci-fi action piece ala Aliens." Since the show's thirteen-episode second season is a lock, fans have already begun to speculate about what the show will and will not show upon its return. It's already been confirmed that we will see a "skinned" visitor in the early part of the season, and it's also assumed that we'll see Valerie's baby, who was annoyingly hidden from view after its birth in the season one finale, "Red Sky." V season two does not have a confirmed return date yet, though it's assumed that the show will follow the precedent of its first season and begin airing in November 2010. If this isn't the case, then the series will almost certainly serve as a midseason replacement starting in 2011.

Wonder Woman Gets a New Look
http://www.ifanboy.com/content/articles/Wonder_Woman_Gets_a_New_Look
by Paul Montgomery DC had debuted an all new design for Wonder Woman from Jim Lee, just in time for her 600th issue, on the racks this Wednesday.
Diana still sports her trademark red, white, and blue, including the iconic tiara and lasso, as well as updated gauntlets. But even with the classic accessories, it's a truly substantial redesign. The most dramatic change? Slacks!
Wonder Woman's look has remained largely the same for 70 years. Here's one look at the character's evolution (predating this design). Click for a larger view:
By the sound of things, JMS is taking a square one approach at the character. It's basically a reboot, giving Wonder Woman a new origin and circumstances. The costume reflects that, both in its contrast to the original design and its functionality. The Source Blog describes the new Diana as a "street fighter," which seems appropriate to her new hard knock life.
Did we mention she has pants now?
My take? Well, it's a Jim Lee design for sure, and that definitely adds soemthing of a 90s vibe. It's really all about that jacket. She almost seems more closely related to the original leather and shades design for the current Superboy. Then again, it does look a hell of a lot better in action than it does on the runway:
Thoughts?

Shooting wraps for Primeval series 4
http://www.denofgeek.com/television/522014/shooting_wraps_for_primeval_series_4.html
Impossible Pictures has finished filming the fourth series of ITV’s scaly sci-fi drama Primeval…Almost exactly a year since ITV announced the cancellation of Primeval due to unaffordable production costs, it's just been announced that the revived science fiction drama has finished its four-month shoot in Dublin. Reportedly a seven-part series due to air early next year, Primeval series four sees its regular actors, which includes Andrew-Lee Potts, Ben Miller and Hannah Spearritt, return to their roles as members of a research team investigating space-time anomalies filled with all manner of critters and monsters from both past and future. The original seasons of Primeval were well received by viewers and many critics, with Charlie Brooker giving it an unusually bile-free review on his show Screenwipe. Though not as high as those of its BBC rival Doctor Who, Primeval's viewing figures were also buoyant, with audience numbers for season three averaging at a healthy 4.99 million. A co-production between ITV, German television company ProSieben and the BBC, we're told that work is also shortly set to begin on series five, which will continue until November. More news on the new series of Primeval as we get it.

Sci-fi is back, baby! At least, that's what the Hollywood pundits are saying. A slew of recent SF-related movie announcements has people proclaiming Avatar as the saviour of the genre, but I'm not so sure. There were a number of classic sci-fi novels being optioned way before James Cameron's behemoth was released including Isaac Asimov's Foundation, Aldous Huxley's Brave New World, and Joe Haldeman's The Forever War, not to mention William Gibson's Neuromancer. Now we've got another seminal sci-fi work to add to the pile of adaptations in development: Ray Bradbury's The Martian Chronicles.
According to 24 Frames, producer John Davis (Predator, Waterworld, I, Robot) has optioned the rights to Bradbury's 1950 book with the intention of setting it up at Fox. The stories recount a series of human expeditions to Mars where they encounter local inhabitants with telepathic powers and attempt to colonize the planet.
The Martian Chronicles was previously turned into a TV mini-series starring Rock Hudson back in 1980 (which Bradbury himself called "boring"), but it has never been made into a feature film. If I were to point to another film that might have inspired this project, it would probably be Disney's John Carter of Mars, not Avatar. Of course, 3-D in general has made a lot of fantastical stuff financially viable again, and I wouldn't be surprised if that's what Davis has in mind. A writer and director have yet to be determined, but who would you like to see behind the camera on this one? Duncan Jones, perhaps?
