LEGO Castles — Ruins

What a wonderfully atmospheric build by Patrick Massey.

It might sound as though a ruined castle would be a very boring scene to build out of LEGO but as these photographs show, that is far from the case.

Notice the clever building to create the uneven stonework effect that makes it seem as though the castle could collapse at any moment. Then there’s the small pool of water and the sand over the stones. And of course the way that nature is creeping in and taking over.

On top of that it’s just been wonderfully photographed. I know I keep harping on this, but if you don’t photograph your model well then it doesn’t matter how skillful the build is, people won’t notice. Check out Massey’s Flickr page for even more photos and other LEGO builds.
