Islands Without Mist

Islands Without Mist

Islands Without Mist
a couple of weeks ago I posted a photo I’d taken called Islands In The Fog. It was a heavily stylized image, but the result was quite satisfying to me. And apparently to others because it even briefly made it onto Flickr’s Explore. Which was kind of cool.

I thought it might be interesting to do a comparison image though and show the scene without the mist and with a more naturalistic look. And here it is. The composition is not identical because I was doing it from memory a week later, but it’s pretty close.

It’s amazing how much more green there is in only a week. But it also really shows how the mist changed the look of the landscape. Now you can see the scope of the river and the Blue Ridge Mountains behind.

What? You expected me to say something interesting here? That's what the blog posts are for.
