True to the name of this range of electronics this is very much a no frills bluetooth speaker. It has a built in rechargeable battery and you can charge it up with a standard micro-USB connector (which is how everything really needs to work). Amazon claim a battery life of up to 8 hours on a single charge and I’ve never attempted that long, but it’s also never run out on me when I have used it.
With dimensions of 7.3 x 2.4 x 2.8 this is a bit too large to just pocket (there are smaller and larger versions as well), it’s more of a throw in your bag sort of thing. But it pumps out sound at a respectable volume. Loud enough to use inside or outside if you’re sitting around a table. It has two speakers so it is “technically” stereo sound, but in all honestly they’re so close together I’m not sure it really counts.
I’m a long way from being an audiophile so I’m not the best person to judge sound quality. I’d say it was decent, but not great. It doesn’t sound tinny which is about all I am personally looking for, but some may feel it lacks sufficient bass. Consider that this is clearly intended as a no-frills budget entry into the wireless speaker market.
Because the real draw of this thing for me is being able to effortlessly (really pairing it is incredibly easy) play anything from my phone on the speakers. Podcasts, Google Music, phone calls. They all work very smoothly.
