Because if Nikki Finke is correct, that’s what you’re looking at. On her new site she has posted what she claims is Warner Brothers planned schedule for DC Comics movies and it goes like this:
May 2016 – Batman v Superman
July 2016 – Shazam
Xmas 2016 – Sandman
May 2017 – Justice League
July 2017 – Wonder Woman
Xmas 2017 – Flash and Green Lantern team-up
May 2018 – Man Of Steel 2
So thats three movies in 2016 and three in 2017. And since the schedule only goes up to May of 2018… I’d say there’s a high chance for three that year too. Well… unless the movies tank.
Which, outside of the tentpole movies like Batman v. Superman, Justice League and Man of Steel 2 is a risk. Those three will do big box office even if they stink. The others… they actually have to be good.
I really think that this combined with Marvel’s 2-3 movies per year is going to saturate the market and a bubble is going to burst. I also think it’s highly unlikely that you can produce movies at that rate and maintain quality (which applies to both companies)
But, on the bright side… A Wonder Woman movie in 2017!
