Comcast Burns Netflix Again by Snagging House of Cards | Wired Business | Wired.com

Wired Clearly Don't Know What They're Talking About

Even beyond the misleading blatant click bait headline the entire article completely fails to represent what's going on accurately.

LIke the fact that what Netflix have got the rights to offer is season 1of House of Cards. That they won't be able to get Season 2 until it comes out on DVD (so some time this summer I'd guess) and that Netflix retains the rights to the show in it's catalog and still has first showing rights for season 3.

So basically it's just the same model that every content provider has used for decades.

The writer of this peice ought to be fired for incompetence.

The ability to watch House of Cards without Netflix sends a clear signal that the entertainment and cable industries aren’t about to let some Northern California tech company change television without exacting a price.
