I found that the website's word counter didn't tally with OpenOffice by quite a margin. They said I got 50,042 words; my PC reckons I pounded out fifty-two thousand.
I think the treatment of hyphenated words made the difference but I'm not sure.
Hyphenated words are usually what mess up word counts.
I know they just did a major upgrade, but they've only just got the buddy feature activated and how late are they going to wait to launch the word count API? There's only about 24 hours left!
They seem a dedicated bunch, I think they'll pull it out of the bag.
For an extra challenge, I've pledged – along with others – that I would update my word count every day.
